TALLEST BUILDING OF KARACHI

This is the list of tallest buildings in Karachi, ranks skyscrapers by height in Karachi.The first highrise and tallest building of Karachi was Habib Bank Plaza which was built in 1963, it stands 101 meters with 22 floors, it remains the tallest building of Karachi as well as the tallest building of Pakistan for 42 years until 2005, when MCB Tower was completed in the same city,which was 6 meters higher then Habib Bank Plaza, it stands 107 meters and have 27 floors.Since 2005 it is the tallest building of pakistan, it is expected to remain the tallest building until 2010 when Karachi Financial Tower will be built but its reign of the tallesy building in karachi will not last long due to the epic skyscraper construction boom in the city.There are a number of supertall skyscrapers which are awaiting approval from the city government of Karachi,which includes Port Tower Complex, if built it will be 593 meters tall and 1947 ft, it represents the Independance year of pakistan, it will become the tallest skyscraper of Karachi as well as of pakistan, and it may well become one of the tallest skyscraper in the worlds 10th tallest skyscrapers. The Skyline of karachi is mostly located in the southern portion of the City, where space is at a premium.Permission to construct taller buildings is usually denied due to governmental concerns over the stress on the infrastructure.
